Why is a hazard recognition process needed?

and structured hazard recognition process can improve their
hazard recognition competency and help them avoid injury and

What Is the Hazard Recognition Plus™ (HRP) Process?

The HRP Process is a unique and innovative process that helps people build hazard recognition competency so that they can evaluate hazards quickly and effectively. Based on energy source identification and energy management techniques, the HRP Process is designed to support – not replace – your existing health, safety, and environmental programs and management systems.

The HRP Process has been carefully constructed after extensive research and is based on principles of physics, chemistry, biology, and safety engineering – all combined into a comprehensive yet simple and logical thought process. The HRP Process includes structured methods to evaluate hazards, determine hazard management techniques, and identify specific Stop-the-Job Triggers that can be readily implemented by workers should these Triggers occur while they are performing the work. Once learned, the HRP Process can be applied to any physical task that has the possibility of harm to people, the environment, or assets.

Through coaching and training, DPA's Associates help your company develop a consistent way to recognize hazards – the first step in risk assessment and subsequent incident prevention. Implementation is conducted to meet your company's needs.
